Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our IZA Design team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and supplies are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management and ability to purchase 4-7 different jobs per day.

Precision Laser & MFG is a job shop with little inventory onsite. This position requires purchasing on a daily basis while ensuring the materials are on the shop floor within the requested timeframe. This role is fast paced and requires multitasking and organization.

Duties

  • Ability to purchase hardware, materials and steel for a job shop with little to no inventory. Each day is fast paced and brings forth a challenge.
  • Daily purchasing of hardware, dunnage, steel tubing and bars.
  • Manage the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing of materials and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
  • Utilize company systems to monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in purchasing preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience purchasing hardware, dunnage, steel tubing and bars a major asset.
  • Ability to multitask and purchase for many different jobs at once.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management, negotiation, pricing strategies, and sourcing techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to supply chain operations.
  • Effective communication skills for building relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
