Medical Office Assistant REQUIRED – Temporary Full-Time Position

Temporary Full-Time position available immediately. This is a fast paced family medical practice with 5

physicians and a nurse practitioner.

Title: Medical Office Assistant

Hours: Monday – Friday – flexible hours ranging from 8 am – 5 pm, 8 hour shifts

Afterhours Urgent Care Clinic 5 pm – 8 pm – scheduled as needed

Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of office equipment

  • Skilled in the use of EMR (Accuro an asset)

  • Proficient in English both written and oral

  • Proficient in Medical Terminology

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Professional telephone manner

  • Excellent patient relations and communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills and able to multi-task

  • High attention to detail

  • Able to work in a fast paced setting both as a team member and individually

Duties:

  • Responsible for patient registration and maintaining an up-to-date patient data base

  • Schedule patient appointments, making appointment confirmation phone calls

  • Respond to patient inquiries in a pleasant, courteous, professional and well-informed manner

with a positive attitude

  • Responsible for in-coming and out-going patient telephone calls

  • Maintain patient confidence and keep all patient information confidential

  • Faxing (in-coming and out-going)

  • Scanning and electronic filing

  • Miscellaneous office duties as required

Medical Office Assistant experience preferred but willing to train the potential candidate.

Hourly rate of pay depending on experience – starting rate at $20.00/hour
