As a Hair Stylist/Barber, you'll play a key role in crafting bold looks, delivering high-end service rituals, and embodying the energy and artistry our clients come for.

You're not just cutting hair — you're curating an experience, telling a story, and helping clients leave feeling powerful from root to tip.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, personalized services — from consultation to finish — that align with the Roots & Tips luxury experience.
  • Perform expert cutting, colouring, styling, and/or barbering techniques for all hair types and textures.
  • Create a welcoming, high-energy environment where every guest feels seen, celebrated, and confident.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through personalized service and effective communication skills.
  • Educate clients on maintenance, products, and at-home care to extend their results.
  • Upsell retail products such as shampoos, conditioners, styling tools, and treatments to enhance client satisfaction and increase sales.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with the team, assist during busy hours, and contribute to content creation and events.
  • Stay current with trends, techniques, and products through ongoing training and education.
  • Represent the brand through style, professionalism, and positive energy on and off the floor.

Experience

  • Licensed Hairstylist or Barber in Ontario (Certificate of Qualification preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in a professional salon or barbershop environment.
  • Strong technical skills in cutting, colouring, styling, and/or barbering.
  • Advanced understanding of different hair textures and curl patterns.
  • Strong product knowledge (bond builders, toners, styling products, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and education.
  • Punctual, reliable, and respectful of team schedules.
  • Social media literacy — comfortable being featured in or creating content.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $17.20-$57.73 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
