Position Overview

We're looking for a detail-driven and highly organized Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Handle purchase orders, sales orders, accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post month-end entries, including accruals and prepayments.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Assist with GST/HST filings and ensure adherence to Canadian and U.S. tax regulations.
  • Support external consultants in preparing corporate tax returns.

Financial Operations

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Generate and process invoices, assist with AR collections and reporting.

Inventory & Costing

  • Work with senior accountants on inventory reconciliations and cost allocations.

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with internal teams to align financial processes with business initiatives.

Process Improvement

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and process optimization.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
