Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting:
  • Manage PO/SO, accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries including accruals and prepayments.
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing GST/HST returns and ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax regulations.
  • Support external consultants in filing corporate tax returns.
  • Financial Operations:
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and working papers.
  • Create and process invoices, support AR collections and reporting.
  • Inventory & Costing Support:
  • Assist senior accountants with inventory reconciliations and cost allocations.
  • Team Collaboration & Coaching:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business initiatives.
  • Mentor junior accountants and oversee vendor payment processes.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve issues with relevant teams.
  • Contribute to system upgrades and process enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
