KVN, a Toronto, Ontario based company, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Associate. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, organized, and must exhibit strong business acumen skills.

Position Title:
Human Resources Associate

Reports To:
Director, Human Resources

Core Function:
To support the Director, Human Resources by performing professional, client-centered support, administrative tasks, coordinating HR processes, and serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient HR operations and fostering a positive employee experience. This role will also aid in the delivery of Human Resource services (including record keeping, payroll, benefits, orientation, Health and Safety, recruitment and/or assistance with recruitment, advising Company managers regarding Human Resources issues), policies and programs in a superior manner that sets an example in terms of quality, productivity, and service orientation.

To assist the Director, Human Resources in the development, implementation and maintenance of strategies, policies, programs and practices (including but not limited to compensation, employee communications, and workplace culture) that ensure the Company's (including designated holdings') ability to hire, motivate and maintain staff to efficiently execute their function(s).

To assist the Director, Human Resources to ensure regulatory and company policy compliance in all matters pertaining to the company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications
  • Preparation of offer letters and employment contracts
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including document preparation and orientation scheduling
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Help organize employee engagement initiatives and company events
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
  • Assist Director, HR in developing and delivering new policies and programs
  • Manage payroll administration, including administration of taxable benefits, preparation of journal entries, and government reconciliation
  • Administer employee benefits, including assist in annual program review and analysis
  • Aid in the delivery of Human Resources programs including salary review process, performance reviews and employee relations
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
