Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $ $79627. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.
Join Our Team as an Associate Human Resources Generalist
S&C Electric Canada is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Human Resources team. The Associate Human Resources Generalist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the HR function and the delivery of high-quality HR services to employees. This role will report to Director-Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
Team Member Support:
• Act as the primary contact for all team member questions, providing accurate and timely information.
• Respond to team member inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and programs, and direct inquiries to the appropriate HR representative as needed.
• Identify the root cause of HR-related issues and provide effective solutions or escalate the issue to the appropriate HR representative if necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of team member interactions, including the nature of the query or issue, the actions taken to resolve it, and any follow-up required.
• Ensure team member satisfaction by responding to queries with empathy and demonstrating a commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with other HR representatives (HRBPs, Talent Acquisition Specialists, HR Programs, Total Rewards, and global COEs) to provide seamless service to employees.
HR Administration:
• Administer HR programs such as referrals, seniority awards, and other initiatives.
• Conduct onboarding for new team members.
• Administer team member benefit programs, including conducting onboarding sessions, processing enrollment and changes, and responding to benefit-related inquiries.
• Manage the administration of team member surveys and maintain certifications (e.g., Great Places to Work).
• Collaborate with the HR Specialist to manage the daily operations of HCM systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Support the HR business partners in managing team member relations issues, including supporting investigations, preparing documentation, and coordinating resolution efforts.
• Assist in coordinating training and development programs, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and tracking attendance.
• Support the HR business partners in the performance management process, including preparing performance review documents and tracking progress.
• Liaise with a wide range of external contacts and internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient and smooth running of L&D programs.
• Support the delivery of training programs locally, working closely with the Global Talent Enablement team and local stakeholders.
Communication and Events:
• Prepare and distribute HR-related communications including announcements, memos, and policy updates.
• Update communication channels such as bulletin boards, TV screens, and newsletters.
• Support company events, including the annual Quarter Center Club event, Take Your Kids to Work Day, and other employee engagement activities.
Systems and Data Management:
• Update and maintain HR information systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare various HR documents, including contracts, onboarding guides, and compensation lists.
• Assist in the preparation of learning and development program materials, including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and other support materials.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and benefits enrollment.

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to provide prompt and courteous service to team members and to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of HR-related issues and provide effective solutions.
• Ability to read and understand HR policies, benefits booklets, pension plans, and employment legislation, and effectively interpret and communicate this information to answer team member questions accurately and clearly.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate records and provide accurate information to team members.
• Ability to maintain accurate team members records, perform data entry, and complete administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization, build relationships, and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Basic understanding of employment laws and regulations and ability to maintain compliance with these laws and regulations.
• Positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other HR representatives.
• Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure a respectful and inclusive workplace.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 products and able to develop proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., Oracle HCM, ADP's Workforce Manager, Workforce Now) and SharePoint sites.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Ability to support initiatives that foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
• Technical proficiency with HRIS systems, data analysis tools, and reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and programs to provide accurate and timely information to team members.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.
Work Environment:
Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
