Job Description
Position Summary:
Brookfield is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate, Human Resources, to support the HR function across the Corporate platforms. Working closely with Senior HR Business Partners, this individual will play a key role in delivering high-touch, best-in-class HR services within a dynamic, performance-driven environment. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding, while ensuring HR best practices and compliance across key HR functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Management & Talent Development
Support the annual performance review process, ensuring consistency and alignment with business objectives.
Assist in identifying development needs and supporting employee growth initiatives.
Partner with leadership on talent calibration and succession planning.
Compensation & Benefits
Assist in the coordination and analysis of annual compensation reviews, including benchmarking and internal equity reviews.
Collaborate with internal partners to manage employee benefits administration and employee communications.
Coordinate maternity leave benefits, clearly explaining programs and processes to employees.
Initiate and oversee short-term and long-term disability claims, respond to employee inquiries, and track all leaves to provide timely status updates to HRBPs.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing guidance and escalating issues where appropriate.
Ensure HR practices are compliant with employment laws and internal policies.
Maintain up-to-date documentation, including employee handbooks and policy manuals.
Demonstrate effective situation and conflict management skills by working closely with managers to ensure employee relations matters are handled professionally, efficiently, and in a way that minimizes risk to the business.
Talent Acquisition Strategy
Partner with internal recruiting teams and hiring managers to align recruitment strategies with business needs.
Support hiring efforts by helping to manage interview logistics, offer processes, and candidate experience.
Onboarding & Offboarding
Oversee onboarding for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the firm.
Support offboarding processes including termination, exit interviews, system access changes, and final documentation.
Visas & Immigration
Work with legal counsel and internal teams to manage relocation processes, including visa applications, renewals, and compliance tracking.
HR Operations & Projects
Participate in and lead cross-functional HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
3–6 years of progressive HR experience; financial services or professional services experience preferred.
Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compensation fundamentals.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Excel with strong reporting and data analysis capabilities (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, dashboards).
