Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Manage all day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and payroll coordination.
  • Complete month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
  • Produce accurate financial statements and reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Process government remittances (GST, payroll, etc.) and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Liaise with external accountants during year-end reviews or audits.

Office Management

  • Oversee general office operations, supplies, vendor relationships, and facility coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for contracts, invoices, and company records.
  • Assist leadership with administrative tasks, reporting, and special projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing financial statements is required.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or related discipline is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Canadian accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
