Job Description

This permanent full time position is located in our Mississauga facility. The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations within the warehouse to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety. This role contributes to the overall success of the company by leading the warehouse team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and optimizing inventory management processes. The Warehouse Team Leader plays a critical part in maintaining a smooth workflow, improving productivity, and supporting business objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Track and order warehouse consumables as needed.
  • Ensure 6S principles are consistently followed to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Support deviation and claim validation processes to address any discrepancies or issues.
  • Track productivity and provide feedback to associates to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Stack, transport, and organize materials and products to designated areas.
  • Operate scanning equipment and print labels to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and operate inventory management systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure proper product rotation according to warehouse policies.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on forklift trucks and other equipment.
  • Maintain audit readiness by ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and operational standards.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Load, unload, and store products and materials accurately and efficiently.
  • Pack customer orders ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and quality.
  • Meet daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly output and accuracy metrics.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work zone.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor and other warehouse/office duties as required.

People Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational targets.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance performance and ensure safety.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ensure that all warehouse staff adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Qualification(s):

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • MHE certification and experience (Order Picker/ Reach)

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Proven experience in both inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, and team leadership.
  • Proven experience with operations projects, including time studies and process improvement.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with SAP-based Warehouse Management System (WMS) and SAP ERP.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and inventory management tools.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook).

Soft Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle demanding situations in a professional manner.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment with a focus on both inbound and outbound operations.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with health and safety. Such as, safety standards and regulatory requirements within warehouse operations.
  • Experience with labour planning, productivity management, and managing a small team.
  • Familiarity and experience with 5S.
  • Experience working in a structured ISO environment.
  • Proven experience with order planning, waving, etc.
  • Strong productivity management.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull materials up to and exceeding 50 lbs. The role involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and standing for long periods.
