Position Summary

Primarily working Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm the Warehouse Team Lead position is primarily responsible for assisting in day-to-day supervision of products moving in and out of the warehouse, training / direction of personnel and record maintenance. Paperwork flow and accuracy is imperative to accurately control and report on all warehouse activities. Limited supervision of warehouse helps to ensure safety and productivity are kept to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)

Duties may include the following, depending on the location of the facility and the assigned responsibility:

- Manage the day-to-day tasks of a team whether being in Receiving, Processing, Returns or Shipping
- Determine daily operational plan, sets priorities and assigns employees as required
- Verify accuracy of orders picked
- Arrange for pick-up of shipments, contact carriers for estimated time of arrival and coordinate schedule
- Stage and coordinate Inbound/outbound shipments
- Safely operate various power equipment including, but not limited to, pallet movers, forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers
- Enter inventory into warehouse management system, verify information accuracy and perform scheduled processes (e.g. reports, issue sheets, etc.)
- Conduct physical inventory or cycle counts
- Develop physical inventory plan, monitor physical inventories, identify all over stock/ shortages/ damages and report or correct any errors or discrepancies
- Encourage safe work practices in others, point out areas where safety training and enforcement is needed, and participate on Joint Health & Safety committee
- Ensures that the workplace is safe and meets all legislative requirements
- Responsible for creating a work environment that is inclusive of diversity, free of discrimination and free of conflict
- Ensure all equipment is in proper working order
- Help coordinate the training process for new employees
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years warehouse, order picking and/or shipping and receiving experience
- Some supervisory experience preferred
- Valid Forklift License

- Must have knowledge and skill using a warehouse management system
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Must be a team player with a proven track record pf being able to interact and lead all levels of associates
- Must be a resourceful self-starter with exceptional labour planning skills
- Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Must be knowledgeable of Health & Safety Legislation

Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements
- Will be required to endure considerable walking throughout the day and will be involved with bending and lifting packages on a regular basis.
- Must be qualified to operate a lift truck and other equipment as well as manually lift and maneuver packages up to 50lbs
- Working primarily in a warehouse environment. Secondary environment working in an office environment.
- Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely and efficient manner
