Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and highly skilled Head Chef to lead our team. The ideal candidate will be a master of sushi craft, possessing the leadership skills necessary to manage kitchen operations while consistently producing visually stunning and delicious dishes. As the Head Chef, you will be the backbone of our culinary output, ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen meets the Sushi Aboard standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culinary Excellence: Oversee the preparation of all sushi rolls and dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ingredient Management: Ensure the absolute freshness and quality of all seafood and produce; manage inventory and vendor relationships.
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrate and teach expert-level fish filleting and advanced knife techniques to the team.
  • Kitchen Supervision: Lead, train, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders during peak hours.
  • Food Safety: Enforce strict adherence to food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and provincial health regulations.
  • Station Management: Maintain a pristine, organized, and efficient sushi station and kitchen environment.
  • Menu Innovation: Assist in the development of seasonal specials and new menu items to keep our offerings exciting.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Head Chef or Senior Sushi Chef role.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knife skills and mastery of traditional and modern fish filleting techniques.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of food handling, food safety (FoodSafe Level 1 required), and kitchen management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to supervise a team and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion: A genuine love for Japanese culinary arts and a commitment to high-quality presentation.
