Kitchen Supervisor/Line Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor/Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food preparation and service while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, strong leadership skills, and experience in fine dining or catering environments. You will oversee kitchen staff, assist in menu planning, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist in menu planning, including the development of new recipes and seasonal offerings.
- Prepare high-quality meals according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and storage spaces.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service during catering events or special functions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role within the food industry, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience with dietary department operations or as a dietary aide is a plus.
- Proficient in menu planning, meal preparation, and fine dining service standards.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
