Island Environmental Health and Safety (Island EHS) is a Victoria, B.C. based Occupational Hygiene consulting company. We provide services throughout Vancouver Island to a variety of clients including but not limited to: School Districts, Universities, Ship Repair facilities, abatement contractors, construction companies, developers, architects and homeowners.
We have an immediate need for a full-time Administrative Assistant in our Victoria office, for a Monday to Friday work schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Answering the phone and taking accurate messages and notes
· Logging in samples and maintaining client database
· Preparing invoices and posting data into Sage Accounting
· Preparing bank deposits
· Responsible for account receivable collections
· Accounts payable duties
· Assisting in report formatting
· Other administrative and clerical duties as required
The successful candidate will require:
· Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment
· Ability to deal with customers and staff in a pleasant manner
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
· Knowledge of Sage Simply Accounting is an asset
· Strong interpersonal & communication skills - both written & verbal
· Ability to deal with changing priorities and tight deadlines
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong organizational skills
Wage dependent on experience and education
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
