**Position Description**

Science World is one of Vancouver’s best-known landmarks. Our stunning facility on the shore of False Creek offers a unique venue unlike any other in the city. Reporting to the Director, Sales & Events, the **Facility Rentals Outbound Sales Lead **is responsible for driving facility rental sales ensuring high quality end-to-end service. With the ability to accommodate from 20 to 1,400 guests, Science World can host any type of event, from a fun evening for employees and clients, or a sit-down formal dinner, buffet or cocktail reception. Science World has outdoor spaces, hands-on galleries, and theatres that can seat up to 400. Our green roof and patio are also a picture-perfect location for weddings and other special events. This position is an ideal career opportunity for a self-motivated individual who brings excellent client relationship skills and sales experience to further expand facility rental capacity and income to support Science World’s mission.

As a facility, Science World is generally open to the public seven days a week, with some extended evening hours in the summer months. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with front-facing and operational teams also working a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings. Hours of work and other related requirements will be scheduled according to business needs and this may include special events on evenings, weekends and holidays.

**Responsibilities**
- Meet or exceed facility rental business and revenue goals and deliver against associated workplan
- Build and maintain a strong facility rentals sales pipeline by proactively developing relationships with current and new corporate and private clients, including implementing cold outreach campaigns
- Conduct site inspections to showcase the facility to prospective clients, lead contractual negotiations, and undertake handover with events team for event execution
- Develop contract proposals and quotes that are complete, accurate and profitable, including undertaking pricing negotiations with clients as needed.
- Administer Facility Rentals (sales) component of the budget and take ownership of meeting sales goals and managing expenses within budget
- Maintain an accurate database of current and prospective clients, including recording client interactions
- Prepare reliable quarterly sales forecasts and generate monthly activities report
- Recognize and develop business opportunities with new and existing clients. Build and maintain relationships throughout each client organization and at all management levels
- Undertake post-event follow up to seek feedback, ensure client satisfaction and develop future recommendations
- Work with the Brand and Marketing teams to develop promotional materials and marketing campaigns to support Facility Rental sales
- Clearly represent client needs, and collaborate with internal teams as necessary, from concept development through delivery and final billing
- Identify and recommend opportunities for promoting Science World as a premier venue for events
- Keep abreast of the competitive landscape within our industry. Regularly review our program and service offering within the context of effectiveness, customer needs and market competitiveness
- Perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience**
- Degree or Diploma in Sales, Tourism, Events Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience
