Reporting to Director, Operations and Customer Success, the Team Lead - Outbound Logistics will be an integral part of the team to drive the process improvement initiatives across operations, manage smooth orders flow, work with distributed teams globally and eventually take ownership of training and mentoring new hires on the processes and systems. Part of this role will demand wearing multiple hats from hands-on to team leadership, requiring the individual to influence peers and superiors, while ensuring smooth running and improving the business by collaborating with internal and external teams.

What you'll be doing:

- Lead the remote team members for outbound logistics team to maintain high standards in the quality of work by identifying and actioning on the areas of opportunity
- Run multiple process improvement initiatives by collaboration with accounting, technology teams to streamline processes such as invoice management, new technology features roll-out etc.
- Coordinate with freight carriers and run pilot projects to launch new delivery services
- Create freight quotes, process & track orders and coordinate ground logistics and movement of product to ensure it arrives on time and in excellent condition
- Coordinate with product suppliers and warehouse providers to ensure on time shipping of the customer orders
- Delight the customers through exceptional service and provide best in class post conversion customer experience
- Partner closely with ocean logistics team to manage inbound container traffic and facilitate the container orders quoting and conversion for sales team
- Managing and approving freight invoices by coordinating with freight carriers and accounting

What you'll need to know:

- Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills along with a meticulous attention to detail
- Process improvement mindset and a drive for continuous improvement
- Experience in logistics and supply chain management
- Prior experience of working with global teams is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field or 3+ years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

- Working in an office environment
- Ability to work from home
- Light work that includes lifting or moving objects up to 20 lbs
- Ability to sit and work at a computer, while taking breaks to stand, walk and move

We're working in a hybrid working model between at home and in office work. Our office is right on the harbour in downtown Vancouver.
