**Summary**

Our HR and Safety Coordinator will act on a Generalist role working with our operations departments to positively influence the business in Human Resources and Safety.

This position is a blend of providing administrative support to the HR and Safety departments in a rapidly growing industry. This position reports to the HR Manager of North America.

**Tasks**
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, starting with creation of job ads, finding talent that would like to work in manufacturing, conducting and scheduling interviews, facilitating new hire orientations.
- Maintain an accurate Human Resources records system, including employee personnel files and relevant electronic data files.
- Provide administrative support to the HR Manager in all functional HR operations.
- Assist in the planning of employee engagement events.
- Perform in-house training or contract external trainers
- Works with ADP -Workforce to report HR KPIs and backups’ payroll when needed.
- Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
- Collaborate with other departments to produce regular reports to successfully administer HR functions.
- Coordinate annual student recruitment.
- Coordinates Safety Meetings
- Ensures the federal, provincial and local safety laws and regulations are followed
- Assist in maintaining all OH&S mandatory records up to date
- Assist our safety consultants with the evaluation of hazardous conditions, developing and enforcing safety programs
- Provide support in developing health and safety programs and maintain health and safety training records for all employees.
- Maintains inspection reports, meeting minutes, monthly walk-around, risk assessments, accident/incidents/near misses, and health and safety communications.
- Monitors all safety data and reports and recommendations to Management
- Other ad-hoc projects as assigned
**Required Education**
- Associates degree in Accounting, HR, Business or related field.
- ES&H certification (preferred).
**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of human resources experience
- Prior ADP Workforce Now knowledge (preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Broad knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
- In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, such as resume databases and online communities.
- Familiarity with social media recruiting.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to deal with sensitive materials with a high degree of tact and discretion.
- Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
