**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Critical Care Department Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the academic/clinical office in the Department of Critical Care. These duties primarily support physician department members, inclusive of the Dept. Head. Working within a small team, this position is responsible to provide coordination of clinical education for the department and coordination of non-clinical education at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and Dalhousie University. It includes scheduling, minute taking, and communication with stakeholders both within and outside the department.
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 plus graduation from a recognized one year secretarial or office administration course
- Minimum of one year secretarial experience required
- Medical terminology course is required
- Recent medical secretarial experience in an academic or healthcare setting is an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in common office productivity software (ie. Microsoft office)
- Able to function independently and problem solve with mínimal direct supervision
- Ability to learn and work quickly; adaptable to change
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to rapidly prioritize while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours**:
- Permanent, Full-time position, 70 hrs bi-weekly
**Compensation and Incentives**:
$20.3648 - $23.1417 hourly
