March Break Day Camp Director

**Overview**:
The Lighthouse Church is a new church planted in Kitchener-Waterloo and we are committed to fostering an environment where people can experience and grow in their relationship with Jesus. This March Break, we will be hosting a Kids Day Camp and we are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as the Day Camp Director. This exciting role will require you to plan, prepare, and execute a fun and engaging camp experience for kids ages 4-12. The position is a 3-month contract, where the first month will be dedicated to the prep and execution of the march break day camp, and the remaining two months will involve supporting our Kids Ministry Director by leading and assisting with our children’s ministry programs at our church on Sunday mornings. Reporting directly to the Lead Pastor, you will be responsible for overseeing the Day Camp program and managing the day-to-day administration.

**Responsibilities: March Break Day Camp (1 Month)**:

- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of a one-march break day camp for children ages 4-12, ensuring it is safe, engaging, and aligned with the values of our church.
- Develop camp activities, crafts, games, and lessons that appeal to a wide range of ages.
- Recruit, train, and supervise camp volunteers and staff to ensure a safe and positive camp environment.
- Handle camp logistics, including registration, materials, supplies, and scheduling.
- Ensure safety protocols are in place, including emergency plans, health precautions, and camper supervision.
- Foster an environment of creativity, inclusivity, and fun while maintaining high standards of care.
- Serve as the point of contact for parents and campers, providing information and answering questions before, during, and after camp.

**Responsibilities: Children's Ministry (2 Months)**
- Work closely with our Kids Ministry Director to support and help lead children’s ministry activities and programs during Sunday services, midweek programs, and special events.
- Assist in the preparation and teaching of age-appropriate Bible lessons, crafts, and activities for children ages 4-12.
- Lead and engage children during church services, ensuring a fun and meaningful experience.
- Help create and implement a positive, welcoming, and safe environment for children within the church setting.
- Assist with planning and coordinating children’s events and outreach initiatives.

- A genuine love for children and a commitment to their spiritual development
- A commitment to providing a safe environment
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and volunteers
- Background in teaching, childcare, or working in a camp setting preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and adhere to safety guidelines
- Evening and weekend hours
- Ability to work 37.5 hours a week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

- Secondary School (preferred)
