The **Facilities Manager** is responsible for the complete management of the maintenance function for **Apex Global**, including overseeing the company’s grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure the workplace is safe and functional. Their duties include but not limited to negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. They assess the costs of maintaining workspaces, make recommendations for becoming more efficient and may assist in relocating businesses to a new office space that better meets their needs.

**Type: Full-time ON-SITE**
**Location: Steeles and Weston Area**

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
- Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
- Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
- Communicate with external contractors and vendors.
- Handle insurance contracts.
- Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
- Ensure all routine maintenance inspections are completed.
- Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation.
- Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Support maintenance and installment work as needed.
- Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors.
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
- Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in building maintenance with a background in the skilled trades including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and general repair.
- Completion of post-secondary education in skilled trades and or related field.
- Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks.
- Great leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Contract and vendor experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members.
- Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
