Human Resources Intern

**Position Title**:HR Intern**
**Department: Human Resources**
**Location: Toronto**
**Status: Fixed-term, Full-time - 3 Months (on-site)**
New Self-Regulatory Organization (“New SRO”) is the national self-regulatory organization which oversees all investment dealers, mutual fund dealers and trading activity on Canada’s debt and equity marketplaces. New SRO carries out its regulatory responsibilities through setting and enforcing rules regarding the proficiency, business and financial conduct of dealer firms and their registered employees and through setting and enforcing market integrity rules regarding trading activity on Canadian equity marketplaces.
**Key Responsibilities**
Organization of employee file documents. This will include:
- Sourcing employee files based on the most updated employee data.
- Reviewing each document within each employee file and categorizing/sorting based on established criteria.
- Preparing each employee file document for scanning and digitization
Scanning and tracking of employee file digitization progress. This will include:
- Scanning and uploading employee file documents to SharePoint site.
- Organization of employee file documents into online folders.
- Maintaining tracking record of work completed to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
Refiling of employee files. This will include:
- Alphabetically filing physical employee files into storage boxes.
- Preparing storage boxes for shipment to external storage facility.
Any other Human Resources related projects as applicable.
**Education/Experience**:
- Some post-secondary education, with a concentration in Human Resources or equivalent work experience an asset.
**Key Skills and Competencies**:
- High degree of confidentiality, reliability and professionalism is required
- Basic understanding of HR terminology and HR related documentation
- Highly process oriented with effective organizing skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on timely customer service
- Must have the ability to work both individually and within a team
- Must be an extremely detail-oriented, fast learner with exceptional time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within organization in a professional manner
- Ability to quickly recognize when issues need to be escalated to a higher level
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft SharePoint)
