**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to undergraduate preparation in a healthcare discipline, Leadership, Health Administration or Business and/or information technology, plus a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as required.
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Previous experience and education in quality, patient safety or risk management is required.
- Strong technical skills are also required and a background in system or program administration is preferred.
- Demonstrate leadership in collaboration and partnerships, change leadership and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve with a global perspective in order to incorporate the organization's systems and strategies when developing viable solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated commitment to the value of continuous learning.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to organize and prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to the value of continuous learning.
