Supply Planning Manager

**Position Summary**:
The primary function of this position is to develop and execute short and long-term supply planning strategies to achieve company goals regarding sales forecast, on-time delivery, cost management, and day-to-day operational expectations.
**Reports To**: Director of Value Stream
**Essential Functions**:
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with internal planning team to ensure supply for each order is scheduled and executed as planned
- Prioritize work based on the business needs to ensure workflow throughout the department.
- Come prepared for daily management & production meetings with any updates and risk mitigation solutions.
- Management and ownership of all purchasing & planning metrics
- Ownership of MPT cost execution including day to day cost management, monthly piece price variance analysis, yearly standard cost roll analysis and recommendation, cost forecasting and purchase order approval management
- Development and management of reporting mechanisms related to material costs management, inventory management, and purchase management
- Development of plan-for-every-part strategies and ERP maintenance including safety stocks, minimum and multiple order policies, and blanket order management
- Set and manage daily work expectations and hold team members accountable for achieving targets.
- Discuss capacity issues with production and master scheduling
- Development and maintenance of planning & purchasing process flows
- Development and management of inventory management strategies as they relate to purchasing methods
- Recognize team members for their efforts and focus on leading an engaged, high-performing team.
- Acting as a role model for team members on MPT expected behaviours and values.
- Other duties, as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline (materials management, supply chain management, or business)
- Industry Certifications considered an asset (CSCMP, CPIM, CSCP, CCLP, PMP etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience directly managing material procurement and associated suppliers
- Excellent negotiation skills are a must
- MRP/ERP experience required (JDE, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficient skills required in MS Office (Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint).
- Team Building - Ability to create a safe and collaborative work space for a team to thrive.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate information
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong attention to detail

- Technical Aptitude - Good working knowledge of planning BOM’s and an understanding of material planning in this environment. Good working knowledge of material planning functions and systems.
