Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will: - Develop, coordinate, and implement tour and event strategies and plans - Participate in the development and implementation of standardized formats and templates for tours, special events and high-level meetings - Consult with ministry clients on communication requirements related to tours and events - Plan, coordinate and execute events for external audiences - Identify logístical requirements to successfully execute tours, events and meetings - Coordinate production of the tour and event binders for the Minister - Establish a comprehensive process for coordinating activities and assembly/preparation of materials with program areas and the Communications Branch - Review and/or coordinate the production and approvals of communication materials, including speaking notes, releases, backgrounders, itineraries, run of show and event notes for the event/tour - Accompany or coordinate ministry staff to accompany the Minister or political representatives on tours and events to ensure proper set-up, logístical and contingency support - Consult with ministry clients on communication requirements related to tours and events - Contribute to corporate programs and initiatives such as advising on matters of visual identity (i.e. event signage) - Contribute to the development of social and new media strategies which address how social and new media products/services (e.g., Twitter, Facebook) can be leveraged to support the ministry's internal and external electronic communications needs. **How do I qualify?**: **Business Knowledge and Skills**: - You have knowledge of communication theory and techniques, communication planning methods and practices - You are able to plan, execute and evaluate event and tour strategies and media relations to coordinate a range of related communication products for the ministry - You have knowledge of and experience with event and media planning and management skills to plan and stage public and media events **Project Management and Leadership Skills**: - You have excellent project management and team leadership skills to provide expertise in the development and evaluation of public events planning and issues management - You can identify and assign tasks and oversee work performed by team members - You are able to ensure service delivery by suppliers **Communication and Interpersonal Skills**: - You have excellent oral communication, political acumen, diplomacy and consultative skills to discuss client program objectives and to brief political representatives and their staff - You have effective writing and editing skills to write a variety of materials on ministry programs and services - You can translate technical terminology and specialized material into plain language for public dissemination - You have skills in editing communications for style, language usage, flow and presentation of information - You are able to prepare and present recommendations and briefing documents **Computer Skills**: - You are proficient with computers to access the Internet for research and to prepare materials using various software programs **Additional Information**: **Address**: - 1 Permanent, 438 University Ave, Toronto, Toronto Region **Compensation Group**: - Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario- Understanding the job ad - definitions**Schedule**: - 6**Categ
