Office Assistant

Rooof is a software company based out of Victoria, BC, that builds business and marketing software for property management companies. Although much of our team now works remotely, we still have a presence in downtown Victoria (near the inner harbour) and are currently looking for someone to help us out around the office part-time.
Duties may change day-to-day, but activities you can expect to do:
- Opening Mail: Many of our customers pay us with traditional, paper cheques, so we get a ton of mail each month. We need some help feeding the envelopes through the opening machine and sorting it based on contents.
- Sorting Cheques: To make these cheques easy to process, they need to be sorted and then separated from the stubs.
- Data Entry: The information from the cheque stubs then need to be inputted into a spreadsheet. We may also have some other data entry tasks for you to complete from time-to-time.
- Scanning: To keep a record of all of our checks without holding onto the paper, you would help us by feeding documents through a scanner and uploading a copy to the cloud.
- Shredding: When it is time to destroy any sensitive paper, you would have the job of feeding it through the shredder.
- Inbound/Outbound mail: Sometimes we need to pick up or send our mail from a nearby post-office, or arrange for a pickup or dropoff from another shipping company (UPS, etc.)
- General Office Assistance: This could include a variety of tasks to help out around the office, like count stock, placing orders, restocking the kitchen, etc.
Who you are:
- Can commit to a schedule of 20 hours per week.
- Focused, detail-oriented, and someone who will be comfortable doing a variety of tasks
