**Position Duration**: Contracted up to 8 weeks, 35 hours a week (Monday to Friday)

**Work Location**: In Person

**Position Compensation**: $17.20 hourly

**Hamilton Road Business Improvement Area**:
The Hamilton Road Business Improvement Area (HRBIA) is here to support the businesses on Hamilton Road. The HRBIA is a non-profit organization committed to the continued success of its members through promotion and education, while participating in the marketing and beautification of Hamilton Road and maintaining and respecting the historical foundation.

We’re looking for a Social Media Communication Coordinator to join our organization and help us tell the story of our vibrant, thriving neighbourhood. If you’re creative, social media-savvy, and excited to support local businesses and community events, we’d love for you to be part of our team

**RESPONSIBILITIES and Duties**:

- Supports the Executive Director and staff in executing the HRBIA vision
- Assist in marketing, implementation of advertising and communications campaigns for projects, programs, special events, and holidays.
- Update BIA social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and twitter
- Membership engagement activity by creating social media post
- Use analytic tools to track success and create reports based on data collected
- Other Tasks as assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Experience with Google tools, wordpress, and mailchimp
- Experience in digital marketing and popularly used social media platforms

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma or university degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills while engaging with numerous people in a day.
- Time management skills with ability to multitask amidst interruptions.
- Detail and results oriented, deadline driven, extremely organized with ability to document progress clearly and concisely
- Community minded, with a passion for and knowledge of Hamilton Road and its many assets
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

**Additional Information**:

- Are you a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or have refugee status in Canada
- Are you legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number).
- Are you between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required based on events and other business needs.
- Outdoor/field work will require walking moderate distances. Indoor work will be in a typical office environment.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
