We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference. **About Us**: **Responsibilities**: The Social Media & Web Asset Coordinator will work in collaboration with Western Communications Teams and consultants, faculty, deans, principal investigators, staff, and students, and have responsibilities including: - The Digital Communications Specialist will work in collaboration with Western Communications Teams and - consultants, faculty, deans, principal investigators, staff, and students, and have responsibilities including: - Designing, programming and maintaining the architecture for the Faculty of Science website (including new substructures) - using the Cascade Management System - Leading components of and supporting the redesign and development of the Faculty of Science website. - Producing digital content plans for the Faculty of Science website and social media platforms - Operationalizing all new content and reformat existing pages to meet access legislation requirements - Establishing a page-mapping guide to facilitate on-going management of/updating of the platform - Producing a user update reference guide to identify content providers and timelines for mandatory content updates - Liaising with various sources of content production, from members of faculty and staff to third-party contractors - Writing promotional content for the website - Producing and scheduling social media messaging - Formatting text and graphics for uploading through Cascade - Reviewing html coding of web elements - Designing multimedia content for the website through photo editing and uploading video content to website through Cascade - Preparing multimedia content for the website and social media platforms through stock photo research, photo editing and - uploading video content to website through Cascade - Producing quarterly quantitative and qualitative report regarding website updates and analytics - Producing a monthly report on the analytics outcomes associated with Faculty of Science social media platforms - Stewarding third party service provider (e.g., writer, graphic designer; videographer; photographer) relationships - Leading components of and supporting the redesign and development of the Faculty of Science website **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Undergraduate Degree in a related field **Experience**: - 2 years' work experience supporting web content and media platforms in an academic/research environment Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Intermediate skill in the use of Cascade Content Manager - Intermediate level of expertise in html coding - General/Operational knowledge of social media (platforms: e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) - Strong organisational skills - Ability to work independently with a considerable degree of initiative - Professional level of verbal and written communications (marketing and public relations approach to messaging) - Demonstrated reliability and dependability with the ability to deliver a high quality product on schedule - Personable and courteous in working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, faculty members, staff and external - stakeholders **Why Western?**: **Background Checks**: While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.
