The Role

The Grain Farmers of Ontario Creative Specialist is instrumental in the strategy and execution of multiple aspects of the Grain Farmers of Ontario brand and will oversee the production, design and layout of organization projects, including communications assets and Ontario Grain Farmer magazine. The Creative Specialist is responsible for managing the Grain Farmers of Ontario and the Good in Every Grain brands and acts as a guide for the broader organization on the visual story of our brands.

Your day-to-day

Graphic Design
- Generate creative and visually pleasing marketing pieces for all communication projects including signage and displays, vehicle wraps and art work for mobile displays/exhibits, assets for programs and projects, etc.
- Guide the layout and coordinate the production of organizational publications
- Review collateral created by agencies and other team members
- Collaborate with team to guide management of the communications asset library (photo, video, templates, etc.)

Brand Management
- Oversee Grain Farmers of Ontario brand and Good in Every Grain brand
- Engage and Educate other members of the organization on the Brand principles and guidelines
- Review and Refresh brand regularly to ensure the brand is modern and meets the needs of the organization and its farmer-members
- Act as liaison with external companies on brand use and approvals

Magazine Production
- Produce the layout and design of Ontario Grain Farmers magazine (nine issues annually)
- Working with the managing editor, take a leadership role in managing the look and feel of the visual elements of the Ontario Grain Farmer magazine
- Manage the print process and distribution of the magazine.

What you will Bring
- University degree or college diploma in graphic design, or related field.
- Experience in graphic design
- 4+ years previous layout and design experience; magazine layout experience is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of publishing software - ideally Adobe Creative Cloud
- Highly creative with attention to detail
- Experience in brand design and maintaining brand consistency to ensure a unified message and visual identity across all brand touchpoints
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Some WordPress, HTML proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills - Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
- Capacity to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and in stressful situations
- Willingness to work extended hours and evenings as required
