At Vicwest, we are “Building for Tomorrow” and are currently looking for a **Human Resources Generalist**, reporting into the **Acheson, Alberta** office.
Since 1930, Vicwest has been Canada’s designer and manufacturer of metal roofing and building envelope systems that withstand our harshest climates. Not only are our products environmentally friendly, but our aim is to produce them in the most environmentally responsible way.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s best-known building materials suppliers as we embark on a significant growth journey through new product launches and market penetration. As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program, Planet Passionate, revolving around the impact of building materials on the environment.
**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a driven and solutions-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team and support the full spectrum of HR activities The HR Generalist will report directly to the National Human Resources Manager and serve as a point of contact for managers and employees, providing full cycle professional human resources support.
This position is located in Acheson, Alberta with the requirement to travel to Vicwest’s Western locations (Saskatoon and British Columbia).
**Key Accountabilities**:
**Full Cycle Recruitment and Onboarding**.
**Employee Relations.**
- Serve as the first-point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and best practices on legislative matters, company policies and procedures.
- Manage the benefits administration process including disability claims, communication with insurance provider, accommodation requests, early and safe return to work as well as transitional modified duties.
- Answer any questions on benefits and company programs.
**Employee Engagement.**
- Working with the HR team and leaders to boost employee engagement, retention and company culture through initiatives, surveys, events.
**Qualifications**:
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant Human Resources experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software (e.g. Dayforce, UKG).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
**Nice to have**:
- Progress toward or completion of CPHR or CHRP designation.
- Working knowledge of different provincial employment laws and labour laws.
- Experience in implementing HRIS systems, preferably UKG.
**What We Offer**:
- Competitive salary of $75,000 - $85,000 based on experience
- 3 weeks paid vacation and 1 week paid winter closure
- Annual Profit Sharing bonus based on company performance
