We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Human Resources Assistant to join our team

**Job Scope**

**Responsibilities**:

- Always maintain a Safety Mindset and contribute to a Positive Workplace Culture.
- Assist and collaborate with the Development Manager to implement Human Resources initiatives and projects.
- Develop and maintain payroll procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Collect and verify employee timekeeping data, including hours worked, leave, and overtime.
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes and benefits.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks and payroll reports.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial (where applicable) payroll regulations.
- Assist in recruitment processes, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Perform data entry and maintain employee records and ensure data integrity in HRIS and filing systems.
- Support onboarding processes for new hires.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits and maintain up-to-date benefits information.
- Reporting and Analysis: Develop and generate regular payroll and HR reports for management review.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Assist in audits related to payroll and Human Resources.
- Stay current on payroll best practices and changes in employment legislation.
- Participate in training and development activities as required.
- Perform additional tasks as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Diploma
- Minimum of a Human Resources Management Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, mainly Excel.
- Experience with payroll software, BambooHR considered an asset
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Must have reliable transportation to work.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual
