**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

SOAR Community Services (formerly St. Leonard's) offers a continuum of social housing services to meet client needs ranging from homelessness to independent living. As part of the continuum, we offer Emergency Shelter Intake Services to support clients in securing emergency accommodations, a warming and cooling centre, Housing Resource Centre, as well as our emergency shelter, Transitional Housing and Supportive Housing programs.

As part of our Housing Resource Centre, individuals and their families will be able to contact staff for support Monday-Friday between 8:30am-4:30am if they are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Clients will be supported with both low-touch and medium-high touch services based on their self-identified need and will be referred to resources including legal clinics, income support services, food bank services, identification and tax clinics, as well as Brant Access to Housing, Canada-Ontario Housing Benefit, and the Housing Stability Fund in addition to being supported with housing searches and learning their rights and responsibilities as a tenant to prepare for successful tenancy.

As the Housing Resource Centre Case Manager you will:

- Deliver direct client service to all individuals and families who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
- Work collaboratively with the Housing Services team in order to ensure program delivery to all clients.
- Integrate a harm reduction approach.
- Ensure all documentation, filing, and paperwork is completed according to Agency standards in multiple electronic databases for reporting requirements.
- Participate in department and sector case management meetings.
- Liaise with available resources including landlords and referring agencies according to client-identified prioritization of needs and interventions.

Hours of work: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 9am-5pm; Thursdays: 12pm-8pm

Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

Annual salary: starting at $47,288 plus shift premiums and comprehensive benefits

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- College diploma in a Human/Social Services field, with a University Degree in a related Social Sciences preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ combined student placement and/or paid experience working with youth with substance use, mental health and/or homeless issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a community and with a team of service providers.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the life experiences/needs of the youth community and a commitment to a youth-centred approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with databases.
- Access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required.
- Ability to manage frequent exposure to direct and vicarious traumatic stress.
