**About Us**

Mill Creek Sand & Gravel is a third generation, family-owned independent company focused on processing and manufacturing aggregates for the Western Canadian markets.

We are currently hiring for the position of:
**Accounts Payable Specialist**

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for administering accurate payables and payment processing, supporting a range of other finance and accounting related activities and ensuring accuracy and compliance with existing policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Daily management of full cycle Accounts Payable, including but not limited to receiving, verifying, matching and processing for payment of all invoices and payment requests.
- Prepare payment summaries and cheque runs.
- Investigate, reconcile and resolve payment errors and discrepancies.
- Assist with employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end closing of Accounts Payable function, including preparing month end accruals, account reconciliations and detailed aging reports while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in year-end close processes.
- Support the Controller in the maintenance of cashflow forecasting model by providing a forecast of vendor payments.
- Responsible for accounts payable processes that support adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain all appropriate documentation supporting accounts payable and vendor payments in an organized and orderly manner to support tax, audit, and any other statutory requirements.
- Participate in ad-hoc departmental continuous improvement projects and other duties as required from time to time related to support of the Finance Department.

**Skills**:**Technical**
- 3+ years of related experience in accounts payable.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Has a working knowledge of full cycle accounting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
