Welcome to this exciting career opportunity Position Overview: Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist (full-time, permanent) to support the Finance department based out of our Edmonton, AB location.The Accounts Payable Specialist (full-time, permanent) is a vital member of the Accounts Payable team and will be responsible for analyzing, processing, and improving the company's payable's function. This role requires an individual with strong analytical and communication skills who will identify and resolve discrepancies. In addition, they are responsible for promoting the Forbes safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, Forbes policy, internal controls, and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. Job Overview: Position(s): Accounts Payable Specialist (full-time, permanent) Start Date: ASAP Location: Edmonton, Alberta Work Model: On siteHours: flexible work hours WHAT WE OFFER:Competitive Salary ($55,000-$65,000)Comprehensive Benefits PackageEnrolment in Pension ProgramVacation Days and PTO days Hybrid Work ModelFamily orientated working environmentOpportunities for career growth and development KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every dayReceive, review, verify, and process invoices accurately and timelyTroubleshoot complex or escalated issues related to invoices or paymentsResolve discrepancies between invoices, POs, and receiptsPrepare, prioritize and process weekly, biweekly, or ad hoc payment runs (checks, EFT, ACH, wire transfers)Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and assist in implementing new systemsManage vendor relationships - set up and maintain details in ERP adhering to internal security processes, develop strong relationships and respond professionally to inquiriesExercise professionalism and discretion when processing confidential or sensitive materialsObtain a deep understanding of Forbes expense coding to identify transactional errorsAssist in regulatory audits and annual audit processOther accounts payable related functions assignedWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, is requiredMinimum of four (4) to six (6) years of related accounting experience is required handling a high volume of complex invoices, is requiredKnowledge of accounting principles and computerized accounting systemsExperience in the Construction industry is an assetExperience or exposure working with foreign currencies, an assetIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, IF Functions)Knowledge of Viewpoint/ Trimble systems, an assetMaintains professionalism, confidentiality, and discretionDemonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong time management and organizational skillsAble and willing to work extended hours of work as required to meet various deadlines as needed Forbes Bros Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer committed to best practices in recruiting and hiring to promote diversity and equality in the workplace.
