**Brief Overview**:
Under the supervision of the Health Programs and Services Manager and Health Research and Data Manager, the Health Administrative Assistant will provide direct administrative support to the Health Department to help carry out the department’s objectives and activities. This position reports to the Director of Health and is based at the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, SK.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support and process travel and other expense claims.
- Administratively support the MN-S Health Department’s core management team including Director of Health, Programs and Services, and Research and Data initiatives
- Schedule in-person and virtual meetings and keep track of meeting dates.
- Take effective meeting minutes.
- Organize, maintain, and manage Health files in accordance with MN-S protocols and confidentiality.
- Support and manage approval requests.
- Support project reporting and evaluation of Health projects and programs.
- Carry out data entry where needed.
- Order office supplies, manage the fax machine, prepare, and mail out Health materials.
- Effectively represent MN-S Health Department by ensuring the appropriate tone and interest is represented in communication with citizens, partners, representatives, and organizations
- Collaborate and work together as a team with the MN-S Health department to accomplish other duties and tasks when assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education or relevant experience in Administration, Business Administration, bookkeeping, or relevant field is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in administration.
- Experience working with Indigenous, including Métis, clients.
**Knowledge and skills**:
- Knowledge of Métis culture
- Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills.
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, electronic communication tools such as Microsoft Outlook)
- Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to work within a team environment.
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Excellent work attendance
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills as well as attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate conflict resolution in difficult situations.
**Additional requirements**:
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation
- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
- Work remotely with mínimal supervision.
