Plaza REIT is a market-leading retail developer, owner and property manager focused on Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Plaza's portfolio includes interests in 255 properties totaling approximately 8.6 million square feet across Canada. Plaza's properties include a mix of open-air centres, stand-alone small box retail outlets and enclosed shopping centres anchored by approximately 91% national tenants.

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Leasing/Legal Administrator will work with our dynamic leasing and legal teams to help secure exciting retailers for our projects, to renew our existing tenancies, and to handle any number of requests from our retailer clients. This role requires attention to detail, organization, an ability to prioritize multiple tasks and a desire to collaborate with people inside and outside the company.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Drafting documents such as lease agreements, notices of lease, letters of intent, renewals, extensions and termination notices;
- Seek input from leasing, legal, construction, property management and accounting departments;
- Negotiate basic lease terms with tenants;
- Monitor the status of and prioritize the processing of outstanding lease documentation;
- Monitor critical dates such as condition dates, lease expiries, options to renew and options to terminate;
- Coordinate review and approval processes with our executive and our various joint venture partners;
- Review and abstract a large volume of lease related documents and extracting critical information;
- Assist with the acquisition and disposition of properties as it relates to gathering, assembling and logging of due diligence information;
- Prepare, review and verify estoppels;
- Process various invoices pertaining to lease deals; and
- Undertake other duties and special projects as required.
- A positive outlook and willingness to learn;
- Post-secondary education with 3 to 5 years’ experience in real estate or lease administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education;
- Thorough knowledge of general legal matters relating to real property including leases, license agreements, amendments, extensions/renewals and surrender/termination agreements;
- Proficiency interpretation of lease clauses;
- Excellent written and verbal skills;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook (and a knowledge of basic graphic design would be an asset);
- Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace;
- Able to identify issues/problems and implement solutions/escalate matter as necessary;
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy; and
- Talent for cultivating and establishing good working relationships and working well in a team environment.

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
