**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Operations, the Estimator/ Proposal Coordinator** **will complete estimates and successfully take responsibility for overall proposal assembly including cost, schedule, quality and technical requirements. The Estimator/Proposal Coordinator will focus on supporting the Director with other pre-construction operational tasks as required.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and participate in the development and preparation of proposals, expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, clarifications, and other proposal documentation for various opportunities in collaboration with multidisciplinary technical groups
- Maintain reference libraries, resumes, project profiles, and any other relevant documents
- Maintain a high standard of document control, including downloading proposal files, creating project files and ensuring files are maintained with all relevant documents throughout the RFP process
- Monitor potential bid opportunities through bid sites and other medium for distribution to the appropriate teams or managers
- Generates quantity estimates for incorporation into cost estimates and/or project budgets
- Assists in developing project cost estimates, and revisions to reflect contract scope changes and extra work orders
- Maintains files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures
- Assists in the preparation of scope documents, specifications, drawings and contract documents for trade invitations
- Develops project updates and bid package estimate documents
- Prepares and coordinates the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build, or general tender for a variety of projects
- Interprets documentation, specifications and design drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimates
- Analyzes the bids of subcontractors
- Interfaces with other functions to provide engineering and cost data and supports others as required
- Reviews design options and recommends best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, availability of materials or other agreed upon factors
- Assists with contract preparation, negotiations, revisions to agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Analyzes each section for scope, pricing and completeness
- Distributes and maintains filing for reports, forms, and other files
- May perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Operating knowledge of Maintenance, Turnaround and Project work within a heavy industrial facility
- Post-secondary degree or trades education
- Previous experience as a General Forman or Superintendent would be an asset
- Experience in the preparation and coordination of project budgets
- Ability to write detailed explanations and respond to technical questions
- Strong knowledgeable in marketing strategies
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
- Experience managing tight deadlines and holding both yourself and others accountable to those deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Ability to work both independently and within teams
