Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist

Vancouver College, established in 1922, is the only K-12 independent Catholic boys school in British

**POSITION: COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST**

Reporting to the President, and working closely with the Principal and Administration team, the Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist:

- Tells stories that reflect the school life through various media.
- Develops, writes, and/or edits content and publishes printed and electronic communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develops content and maintains the school's website.
- Executes communications projects and manages implementation to ensure success.
- Coordinates and manages brand standards to uphold the school's image.
- Manages mailing lists, ensuring compliance with CASL.
- Recommends policy and practice to enhance positive communications, promotions, and public relations.
- Ensures timely dissemination of communication materials to different constituents.
- Works collaboratively with the Administration Team to:

- Manage and coordinate the school calendar in coordination with the Administration.
- Develop a communications plan and implement it accordingly.
- Support the Administration Team in the execution of crisis communication strategies and plans, including related procedures and systems.
- Works collaboratively with the Advancement Team to provide communication support for fundraising initiatives, including developing collateral materials.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with the community and key constituents, including students and staff, the Parents Association, and the Alumni Association, and supports them with their communication needs.
- Participates in the coordination of video projects while managing sharing platforms.
- Participates in school events and special projects and provides support as needed.
- Coordinates, manages, and supports the Finnegan Summer Program, including its promotion, updating/managing the registration platform, and acting as the point of contact.

Experience and relevant skills include:

- Three to five years of communications experience and/or post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, marketing, or public relations.
- Attention to detail and superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with graphic design tools/programs such as Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Familiarity with filming, editing, and/or live streaming of videos.
- Demonstrated ability to manage different projects simultaneously and work as part of a team while able to work independently.
- Efficient, flexible, and proactive.

**Helpful additional qualifications**:

- A second language is considered an asset.
- Experience working with non-profit or faith-based organizations or schools is an asset.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000
