**Responsibilities**:
- Source material from suppliers, issue purchase order, and track in computer system.
- Follow up with suppliers for overdue material, update ETA in tracking system, and notify dispatch of any delays.
- Follow up with suppliers when material is due, and arrange pickup by Company drivers, couriers, or other means as required.
- Receive material at the shop, update tracking in computer system, and provide daily list of jobs to dispatch where all material available and work is ready to be scheduled.
- Schedule sub-contractors to assist as directed by dispatch and technicians.
- Coordinate delivery of material, equipment, and tools to site as necessary.
- Arrange assistance of a technical nature when required or requested. Assistance may be provided by the Dispatcher, the Service Manager or a senior technician, or suppliers, manufacturers, or technical support if necessary.
- Provide information concerning the location of wholesalers, rental shops, sub-contractors, or other resources which may be requested by the men in the field.
- Source tools required to complete work, including Company tools from shop as well as rental tools when required.
- Generally, provide back up and support to assist field staff to complete all work in a professional and efficient manner.
- Organize the daily activities of Company drivers, based upon requirements for dispatch and field staff, and continuously re-evaluate and update as circumstances change.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized, using the driver's available time to complete this task.
- Ensure drivers and warehouseman keep parking lot, loading area, and space surrounding garbage/recycling bins and shipping containers clean, tidy, and devoid of garbage and debris at all times. Do not allow material to accumulate in these areas.
- Ensure tools are signed out, and arrange for repairs when necessary, using drivers and warehouseman, or third-party repair shops.
- Ensure shipping containers, garbage bins, and spare, unassigned, and delivery vehicles are all locked each evening, and that overhead loading bay door is secured.
- As the driver is generally a future apprentice, effort should be made to educate and provide constructive feedback and information to assist with evaluation and training.
- Ensure scheduled maintenance is completed on time for mechanical equipment and tools.
- Co-ordinate necessary or beneficial improvements to the building and surrounding parking area.
- Assign work and jobs to technical staff based upon the direction of the dispatchers.
- Check-in check-out technicians as they start and end the day. Update the dispatch system as technicians move to and from each job site. Communicate updates to dispatch, and to technicians as directed by dispatch.
- At the end of each day, send daily work assignments to all technicians for the start of the next day, ensuring that material, building keys, tools, and paperwork are either set aside for pickup, or arranged for delivery to site, depending upon the instructions provided by dispatch.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience is service industry preferred but not required
- Dispatching experience
- Customer service
