**Role description**:

- Provide support to develop and increase essential life skills such as planning and organization, conversation skills and social networking.
- Assist with tasks and activities such as; personal hygiene care, household chores, budgeting, grocery shopping, community errands, medical appointments and mentoring during school and/or vocational placements.
- Provide education and information to facilitate participation in recreational and leisure activities, to access community resources, and to optimize nutrition and exercise.
- Respite care for families and caregivers.
- Implement behavioural intervention programs which may include crisis prevention and conflict resolution.
- Provide support in a variety of settings including residential settings, schools, day or vocational programs, as well as hospitals or treatment facilities.
- Work with various ethnic groups, and respect all cultural values and traditions.

**What we are looking for**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in a relevant field.
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, developmental and physical disabilities, dual diagnosis, mental health and behavioural issues. (minimum 4 years)
- Enthusiastic and reliable workers
- Excellent communication, organization and social skills.
- Current crisis intervention training (CPI, Safe Management, UMAB or equivalent)
- Current First Aid/CPR.
- Current valid Police check/vulnerable sector screening.
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle with ability to commute within your surrounding area.
- 6A endorsement and 2 million Professional Liability Insurance coverage is essential.
- Fluency in a second language is an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
