Administrative Assistant - Stewardship and Development Office
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, established in 1856, is the second largest diocese in English speaking Canada and serves the needs of more than 626,000 Roman Catholics, throughout Southwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chancery Office in Hamilton is looking for a one-year fulltime contract (Monday to Friday - 32 hours/week) Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Stewardship and Development Office.
This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the Stewardship and Development Office, with special focus on database management related to the One Heart, One Soul Campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with database management, filing, tracking pledges and payments, and donor correspondence
- Process and record pledge payments through cheques, electronic funds transfers, credit cards, and transfers of stock
- Assist with donor communications pieces including mailings
- Participate in the planning and execution of various events, receptions, and gatherings
- Prepare and organize materials for various Parish and regional programs, events, and meetings
- Correspond with and assist pastors, donors, staff, and volunteers
- Other various duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Understanding and knowledge of the Catholic Church and willingness to support its mission
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma
- 3 to 5 years of fundraising, administrative, or office experience preferred
- Organization: ability to maintain strong attention to detail, handle multiple tasks, and manage time effectively
- Communications: speaking and writing clearly and effectively without errors
- Technical skills: must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Database management experience is preferred
- Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, collegiality, and professionalism
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel within the diocese
