**Job Title: Team Lead - Fresh Cut**
**Location**: Milton, ON
**Reports To**: Production Supervisor
**Employment Type**: Full-Time
**Hours**:Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm
**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced **Team Lead - Fresh Cut**to oversee our processing team and ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will directly supervise staff, enforce food safety protocols, optimize production processes, and maintain our rigorous quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership & Supervision**:
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of production staff in fresh-cut processing, packaging, and sanitation
- Schedule and assign daily tasks to full-time and part-time employees
- Ensure all staff adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and performance standards
- Resolve workplace issues and implement productivity improvements
**Food Safety & Quality Assurance**:
- Strictly enforce **GMP, HACCP, and Ontario food safety regulations** at all times
- Verify proper labeling, lot coding, and traceability throughout production
- Verify all tools used for cutting, and packaging are accounted for (e.g., pens, markers, knives, scoops, etc.)Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and work areas
- Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs)
- Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment (e.g. scales)
**Production Operations**:
- Oversee all aspects of fresh-cut processing including washing, cutting, packaging and labeling
- Ensure proper yields and minimize product waste
- Manually peel and cut fruit and vegetable, ensuring discipline around yield and quality
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required daily paperwork
- Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Manage inventory of packaging supplies and production materials
**Sanitation & Safety**:
- Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to schedule
- Verify proper chemical concentrations and usage
- Enforce strict PPE compliance (hairnets, gloves, smocks, etc.)
- Conduct safety briefings and report any hazards or incidents
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years experience in food production/manufacturing (fresh-cut produce experience preferred)
- 1+ years in a leadership/supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety regulations
- Ability to lift 25+ kg and stand for full 8-10 hour shifts
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Pay: From $21.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
