We are seeking a passionate and dedicated **Cook** to join our team at the Shady Rest in Qualicum Beach. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. If you're enthusiastic about cooking and enjoy working in a collaborative kitchen environment, we'd love to have you as part of our team. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served promptly and at the correct temperature.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure all ingredients are well-stocked.
- Monitor food prep and cooking stations to ensure quality control and consistency.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as a cook or in a food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- A passion for food and a strong desire to provide great customer service.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
