Position Description
Longview Farms, situated in Central Saanich, BC, stands as a forward-thinking cultivator and distributor of a diverse range of Certified Organic fruit and vegetable crops. Recognized as the largest Certified Organic vegetable farm on Vancouver Island, our produce, including daffodils and bulbs, graces the shelves of numerous local retail stores across Vancouver Island and the mainland.
We are currently seeking a Farm Sales Representative / Office Administrator to join our dynamic team and collaborate closely with our Farm Manager and Head Grower. The role involves fostering relationships with existing and prospective buyers, creating, and executing a strategic sales plan, reviewing industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our continued leadership in the organic sales market as well as providing overall office administration/management to the farm activities.

**Responsibilities**:
Sales
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing buyers.
- Identify and develop relationships with new customers in the organic market.
- Understand customer needs and preferences to provide tailored organic solutions.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed organic sales targets.
- Identify key market segments and tailor sales strategies accordingly.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the organic sales market.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of our organic product offerings.
- Effectively communicate the unique selling points and benefits of our organic produce.
- Conduct product presentations to potential clients, highlighting our commitment to organic farming.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities and challenges in the organic sales market.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Process and manage customer orders for organic products in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure on-time delivery of organic produce.
- Resolve any order-related issues promptly and effectively, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Prepare regular organic sales reports, detailing achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
- Implement and Utilize a CRM system to track customer interactions and organic sales progress.
- Work closely with the Farm Manager and Head Grower to align sales strategies with farm production capabilities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns focused on organic product
Administration
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries regarding products/services.
- Managing inventory levels and placing orders for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and office supplies as needed.
- Identifying opportunities for process and office management improvement and designing and implementing new systems accordingly.
- Tracking training and certification records, scheduling necessary training for workers before certification expiry, and ensuring compliance with organic, food safety, and WorkSafe Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements around the farm’s organic status, food safety certification, and WorkSafe Health and Safety regulations.
- Assisting the Head Grower with the yearly PACS Organic renewal certification process.
- Coordinating with HR in developing and implementing office policies and procedures
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Previous experience in sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of agricultural technology, market trends, and financial management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Clear and concise communication abilities, issuing instructions and providing follow-up, monitoring, and correction as necessary.
- Capable of working collaboratively with individuals at various organizational levels and with diverse levels of experience.
- Ability to manage and maintain private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as seasonally required by the farm.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
