Accounts Payable/accounts Receivable Specialist

To keep up with our growth we have an immediate opening for an **Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist** in our Toronto office.
Reporting to the Controller, this new role will be primarily responsible for day-to-day **AP** tasks and will be cross-trained on **AR **processes to support as needed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Preparing and processing accounts payable;
- Verifying accuracy of invoices and remittances in adherence with AP procedures;
- Preparing and sending invoices to customers;
- Collecting on aging AR and escalating in a timely manner, as necessary;
- Owning customary bookkeeping tasks, such as reconciliations;
- Reconciling numerous bank and credit card accounts while ensuring that all supporting documents are accurately uploaded into accounting system;
- Tracking expenses from vendors and suppliers to help flag unusual variances;
- Assisting with preparation of trial balances and financial statements;
- Assisting with preparation and remittance of tax returns;
- Other related tasks, as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- At least 3 years’ bookkeeper / general accounting experience;
- Strong understanding of intercompany transactions and balancing;
- Advanced bank and credit card reconciliation skills;
- Experience in multi-currency environment;
- Deep experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or similar;
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets;
- Passion for your work and a can-do attitude;
- University degree in accounting or finance is an asset;
- Working experience in an ERP system is an asset.

**Our Workplace**
Our head office is in Toronto located at King and Spadina in a historical industrial building that has an open concept with lots of natural light. The location is surrounded by fabulous restaurants, bars and entertainment options. We are an environmentally-conscious, (mostly) paperless workplace. Office is easily accessible via transit. We are right in the Fashion District steps from entertainment.
