Accommodations are available during the hiring process, upon request.- As a Panning Policy and Strategy Student, you will learn about and contribute to the review of the City of Calgary / Calgary Airport Agreement on Land Use, Design Guidelines and Acreage Assessment Levies. Specifically, you will conduct research focusing on land development frameworks, and the tools, mechanisms or strategies used by a sample of Canada and US airports and their corresponding municipalities. Primary duties include:
- Identify and explain similar land development settings.
- Identify potential challenges/opportunities encountered in other jurisdictions regarding land development and provide risk management strategies.
- Present finding with focus on the current state of land development initiatives between the airports and municipalities researched and their appeals processes, permitting, inspections, infrastructure and servicing approaches.
- Obtain copies of relevant agreements or studies for comparative analysis.

**Qualifications**
- Enrolled in a third-year diploma or degree program in Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, Business or a related field.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Success in this position requires strong verbal and listening skills, strong writing skills, research skills, ability to demonstrate tact and maintain confidentiality, an aptitude to build and maintain relationships, and ability to work well both independently and in a team.

**Pre-Employment Requirements**
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2025.

Compensation: $28.88 per hour (2025 Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
- work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
