The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager Infectious Disease Control (IDC) Team. Reporting to the Director, Environmental Health, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Services, the Manager, IDC leads program planning and strategic program level decision-making for the effective and efficient delivery of the IDC program.
- Ensuring adherence to Ontario Public Health Standards: Requirements for Programs, Services, and Accountability and the Health Protection and Promotions Act;
- Ensuring use of comprehensive population health promotion strategies;
- Engaging in strategic program planning, implementation, evaluation and evidence-informed decision-making;
- Implementing, leading and monitoring continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
- Ensuring that staff function in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines, as well as division and agency policies and procedures;
- Monitoring and documentation of staff performance;
- Developing team guidelines/protocols and contributing to division level policies and procedures;
- Leading the implementation of staff continuous learning and professional development opportunities;
- Acting as a member of the Environmental Health, Infectious Disease and Clinical Services leadership team and contributing to divisional planning;
- Contributing to a positive work environment, working collaboratively with others, recognizing the strengths and contributions of others, and establishing positive and constructive internal and external working relationships;
- Creating and maintaining a positive and safe workplace culture and team environment;
- Performing other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Masters degree in any of the Health Sciences, Education, Public Health, Administration, or related area of study;
- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario or Certified Public Health Inspector is preferred;
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience with demonstrated skills in leadership, community health, quality assurance and program planning, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role;
- Familiarity with relevant Regulations and Guidelines, as well as the Ontario Public Health Standards, legislations and protocols;
- Knowledge of infection control and prevention principles would be considered an asset;
- Demonstrated experience in implementation of comprehensive population health promotion strategies, program and strategic planning, engagement and relationship building with partners and stakeholders, and policy advocacy;
- Excellent project management, budget management, decision making, quality assurance and operational planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines;
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and human resources management skills commensurate with the expectations of a management position on a multidisciplinary team;
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and effectively collaborate with others.
- Knowledge of the principles of health equity, and why it is a foundational standard for public health. This includes the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and/or communities to advance public health priorities;
- Ability to communicate in French or any other languages would be considered an asset.

The salary for this position ranges from $103,405.30 to $121,652.99 based on qualifications and experience.

Flexible work hours are required, with an expectation to work on-call evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
