This position is located at our partner greenhouses: Glenwood Valley Farms and Katatheon Farms.

**Focus**

The primary focus of the Office Manager is accounting, payroll, reporting, inventory management, and other administrative tasks.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Accounting: _
- Code and enter accounts payable invoices.
- Create and complete bi-weekly payables cheque run.
- Generate receivables invoices as required.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and generate monthly financial statements
- Prepare quarterly budget to actual financial analysis.
- Prepare year-end working papers for external accountants.
- Reconcile and remit GST, Payroll, and Worksafe BC as required.
- Assist with Stats Canada surveys and audits.
- Performs related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems.
- Provides reception and general administrative support as required.
- Assist with inventory counts, complete weekly inventory log & order supplies as required.
- Report Deliveries & weekly inventory reporting of packing supplies.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Payroll: _
- Process bi-weekly payroll for salary and hourly employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accurate employee records by ensuring completeness and accuracy when collecting, calculating and entering payroll data.
- Ensures accurate processing of payroll deductions and related payments to CRA, WCB, benefit carriers and financial institutions.
- Ensure payroll is carried out in accordance with all payroll and tax regulations
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) in all payroll and Human Resources matters including employee records.
- Conducts year end activities for payroll, including preparation and distribution of T4s.
- Process various payroll scenarios including changes in wages and salary rates, employee hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefit deductions, overtime, bonuses and statutory payments.
- Respond to employee requests regarding individual pay and deduction inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintains Management and Supervisor attendance records and reports as required.
- Maintains and updates payroll software modules as needed.

**Key Attributes and Skills**
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and motivated to learn in-house software programs.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities in a confidential manner and maintain accurate and detailed records.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Ability to communicate (written and oral) in English a must. Punjabi and/or Spanish is an asset.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality, diplomacy and trust.
- Able to work effectively in a team environment.

**Education and Experience**:

- Completion of secondary school or an equivalent certificate is required
- Diploma in accounting is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years accounting/payroll administration experience working with computerized payroll or equivalent education/experience.
- Knowledge of Sage 50 software is an asset.
