**Job description - Maternity Leave Contract**
**Company Information**:
Down East Hospitality Incorporated was established in 1987. We are an independent franchise who own and operate 9 Tim Hortons restaurants across HRM, our head office is in Dartmouth, NS.
We are an enthusiastic, diverse and hospitality-focused team who share Tim Hortons passion for delivering the exceptional guest experience. Our team supports and assists the Restaurant Managers in the day-to-day management of restaurant operations.
The Bookkeeper/Office Manager is responsible for all financial operations for the company including, but not limited to;
- Process payroll (approximately 200 employees), having close communication with restaurant managers regarding vacation pay requests, training hours, overtime, etc.
- Accounts receivable and payable
- Bank reconciliation, general bookkeeping tasks, invoicing, quotes, purchase orders and inventory
- Generate financial reports including cash flow, gross/net margins and other reports as required
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems on your own
- Cash auditing of each restaurant on a monthly basis
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and communication skills
- Work closely with the Office Administrator
- Maintain a clean and organized office space
- Have 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, or office management required. We are willing to hire new collage/university graduate
- Experience working with Ceridian payroll system is an asset
- Experience working with delivery companies (Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, Door Dash) is an asset
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work legally in Canada
