Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

**Summary**
The purchasing and inventory coordinator is responsible procuring materials for internal/external demands and ensuring products are received on time, on budget and meet the required specifications. This position will also be responsible with assisting in monitoring inventory levels, replenishing stock and ensuring out of stock (OOS) do not occur.
**Responsibilities**
- Working within company purchasing policies and procedures
- Placing purchase orders upon regular review of customer and site requirements
- Liaising and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality of stock purchases
- Working with internal and external customers
- Coordinating the logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, tagging, and processing
- Matching incoming goods or services as per the requirements of their purchase orders;
- Working from engineering bill of material requisitions for production orders;
- Forecasting supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability.
- Tracking inbound and outbound orders to prevent overstocking and out-of-stock (OOS).
- Analyzing and reviewing supply chain data to identify and resolve issues.
- Generating purchase and pricing reports, supply chain analysis, and inventory management systems.
- Performing regular stock checks and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintaining and updating records of purchase orders, pricing reports, and inventory records.
**Knowledge & Skills**
Must be willing to work in and participate in safety conscious environment
Must be motivated and have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Must be a self-starter, able to meet performance targets of the department and in accordance with company values and objectives.
Must have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple demands and work in a collaborative environment
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
Solid listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills
**Education**
Business related post-secondary education and/or relevant experience
Degree or diploma in a related discipline considered an asset;
**Experience**
Previous purchasing experience of at least 1-2 years;
Experience with SAP an asset;
Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite, including intermediate excel skills
Proficiency with basic purchasing and inventory management knowledge would be an asset
