DescriptionTitle: Learning and Development SpecialistLocation: Houston, TX / Mississauga, ONPosition SummaryThe Learning and Development Specialist plays a key role in delivering impactful learning experiences that build skills, strengthen performance, and support organizational goals. The primary focus of this role is facilitation - leading engaging, interactive training sessions (virtual and in-person) that empower employees to grow and succeed in their roles. The successful candidate will bring energy, curiosity, and strong presentation skills to every session, while collaborating with stakeholders and instructional designers to ensure programs are effective, relevant, and aligned with business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Delivery & FacilitationFacilitate high-quality learning sessions, workshops, and programs (both virtual and in-person) for employees across the organization.Use adult learning principles to create dynamic, learner-centered experiences that encourage participation, knowledge sharing, and skill application.Adapt facilitation style and delivery methods to suit diverse audiences and learning formats (e.g., classroom, virtual, blended).Build an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and collaboration.Gather and analyze participant feedback to measure learning impact and continuously improve delivery and session effectiveness.Learning Coordination & SupportPartner with instructional designers and subject matter experts to understand course objectives, learning outcomes, and desired performance improvements.Prepare and customize facilitator guides, presentation materials, and participant resources as needed.Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, communications, and participant engagement before, during, and after sessions.Support onboarding and skills development initiatives by facilitating core and specialized training programs.Continuous Improvement & CollaborationCollaborate closely with Learning & Development and business partners to identify training needs and recommend learning solutions.Provide insights and feedback from learners and sessions to enhance future program design and delivery.Contribute to the development of new learning programs and initiatives that align with business goals and organizational culture.Stay current on learning trends, facilitation techniques, and tools to continually elevate the learning experience.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in facilitating corporate training or professional development programs.Proven ability to engage audiences through confident facilitation, storytelling, and discussion-based learning.Strong understanding of adult learning principles and best practices for virtual and classroom facilitation.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.Skilled at managing group dynamics and creating an inclusive, motivating learning environment.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and sessions.(Asset) Experience with instructional design, eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia), and learning management systems.We offer:Competitive compensationPerformance based bonusesComprehensive benefits packageHybrid Working ModelHealth and wellbeing tools and resources and more…Just Energy and its subsidiaries are an equal opportunity employer
